ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- A conversion therapy ban has been approved in Alachua County. Commissioners voted unanimously to extend the ban of conversion therapy on minors to incorporated areas of the county.

This means each individual city must choose to opt-out of the ordinance, or else they automatically opt-in. The ban is already in effect for unincorporated parts of the county.

The incorporated areas will be included once the Secretary of State signs the ordinance.
