FHP has released the name of the woman killed after hitting a school bus Monday morning in Marion County.
Gail Puskas, age 72, was driving west on County Road 42 when she failed to stop and rear-ended a Marion County school bus, FHP troopers said.
The force of the crash pushed the bus forward causing it to hit a student who was trying to board the bus, FHP troopers said.
The student was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, FHP troopers said Puskas was pronounced dead on the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol says the SUV whose driver who has not been named was traveling West on County Road 42 when a bus in front of her came to a stop.
The woman failed to stop and collided with the back of the bus. She died at the scene.
A child getting on the bus had minor injuries.
