ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB) — An Alachua County man was arrested Monday after deputies said he shot his girlfriend multiple times.

According to the arrest report, deputies said they responded to the area near NW 47th Terrace in Lacrosse about a person shot. When they arrived deputies found a woman bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim told deputies that her boyfriend, Willie Edward Young, 60, started arguing with her about cheating on him. Young then fired multiple shots at her.
A witness told deputies he saw Young recently return home and admitted to shooting someone in the leg.
The victim was taken to UF Health Shands where staff told deputies she had five gunshot wounds, three in the right leg, one in the left leg and one in the abdomen.
Young was charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession a weapon by a convicted felon. He was booked at the Alachua County Jail with no bond set.
