GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — A Gainesville woman is accused of biting a deputy while she was being arrested.
According to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office arrest report, Alyssa Lawson, 22, was asked to leave Skate Station when employees saw her drinking alcohol from a flask. Deputies say Lawson became angry and punched two employees.
When deputies arrived, they say Lawson climbed on top of their vehicle, resisted their attempts to handcuff her and tried running away when they were placing her in the vehicle.
As deputies took Lawson to a nearby hospital to be evaluated, they say she became angry, slipped out of her handcuffs and bit a deputy as he tried to put the handcuffs back on.
Lawson is charged with two counts of simple battery, resisting law enforcement without violence, and battery on law enforcement. She was booked at the Alachua County Jail with bond set at $8000.
