ASO teams up with Anchorage Police Dept. on sexual abuse investigation

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- The Alachua County Sheriff's Department and Anchorage Police Department have teamed up and solved a 30-year-old case.

According to Alachua County deputies have been recently coming forward to tell their story of ongoing abuse to detectives in Anchorage, Alaska. Those detectives contacted ASO because their suspect, William Gouthro, 77, was living in Alachua County.

After a joint investigation in Florida and Alaska, a grand jury in Anchorage indicted Gouthro on 8 different counts of Sex Abuse of Minor. He was booked at the Alachua County Jail Tuesday.
