HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. (WCJB) -- A meeting between Alachua County and the High Springs City Commission will take place Thursday, with the two entities planning to discuss major changes to the High Springs Community Redevelopment Agency.
In 2016, county leaders voted to cut funding in half by 2019. The county provides funding to the High Springs CRA.
The joint meeting will consist of a discussion on whether to extend the deadline to cut funding by a year.
If High Springs manages to cut costs by 50%, county leaders would consider extending that level of funding for another year.
The High Springs CRA supports business development initiatives in downtown High Springs.
