Alachua County Public Schools is offering free FluMist immunizations this fall as part of the annual Control Flu Alachua County program.
FluMist is a vaccine that’s sprayed into the nose in order to prevent the flu.
There is no cost to families to participate, but if your child has health insurance, the Health Department is required to collect the insurance information and bill the company for the vaccine.
Children without insurance will receive the vaccine for free through the Vaccines for Children Program.
Consent packets will be sent home with students this week. The deadline to return the form is Oct. 5th.
