Three years after an alarming audit eventually forced Waldo School to close, Alachua County Public Schools appear to be in much better shape.
At a meeting on February 6th, the school board accepted a 94 page audit for last school year from the independent firm "Purvis, Gray, and Company."
General fund spending ran in the red by a little more than $5 million, despite a three percent increase in funding from the state.
The extra expenditures were mostly in employee salaries and benefits.
