FORT WHITE, Fla. (WCJB) – After what can be a stressful Thanksgiving, music was the right remedy for Alachua County residents to soothe their souls.

"Danksgiving", held at Rum 138 in Fort White is a three-day music festival featuring more than 30 bands from Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.

The festival was family-friendly and also included camping and kayaking opportunities as well as a kids area.

The organization also accepted musical instruments as donations for the non-profit 'Music Helps,' which focuses on helping kids who may not be able to afford one.
Timber, an organizer for the music festival, said there were various types of music genres for all audiences

"There's gonna be a lot of fun this weekend. Some of the best bands from Florida and Georgia," Timber said. "Bluegrass music, southern rock, jam bands, a little bit of reggae, a bit of 'column A,' 'column B.'"

Admission for the event is $60 at the gate. For more information on the event can be found at the "Danksgiving" website.
