GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Alachua County leaders are asking Gainesville city leaders if they are on board with a plan to revamp services for homeless people.

The county proposal calls for the two entities to increase spending on services by one-and-a-half million dollars over three years.

The county would withdraw from the Grace Marketplace Homeless Center to focus on putting homeless people in homes.

A letter from the county is asking about the city's commitment to the plan.

They will discuss it at a joint meeting on September 23rd.
