Alachua County has been touched by the 2016 Russian election hack.

The supervisor of elections confirms their office received a phishing email during the 2016 campaign.

They released a statement saying, "Both the FBI and DHS...indicated no active threats that appeared to have compromised our systems."

A South Florida Sun Sentinel investigation found 12 county elections offices, including Alachua County, had received malicious messages, but none admitted to opening it.

Governor Ron DeSantis said the FBI told him two counties had been hacked but wouldn't say which ones.
