ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB) — An alligator caused some delays on 441 in the City of Alachua on Friday.

Police say they got calls about an alligator in the roadway around 5:00 pm on April 12. Several officers and good Samaritans helped corral the 7-foot long male alligator into the median, where they waited for an FWC Officer to arrive to help.

Around 6:00 pm that officer arrived and helped safely remove the gator.

They planned to release him into Hatchet Creek near the airport.
