MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- A house fire in Marion County is now believed to be arson. Law enforcement arrested the suspect involved Tuesday, after a lengthy chase.
Firefighters working late into the night to put out the flames and save the dogs inside.
Marion County Fire Rescue received a call about a house fire on SW 103 Loop, a few minutes after 7 Tuesday evening. When they arrived to the home, heavy smoke billowed from the entrance and flames were spreading throughout much of the home.
Meanwhile, MSCO was able to track down a suspect after receiving a call concerning someone setting fire to a home. After a lengthy chase and with help from Levy and Williston law enforcement, officials found the man hiding in his mobile home.
According to Marion County Fire Rescue, the fire is now considered under control and the family dogs have been located and are safe. The suspect is currently being treated for several burns and faces multiple charges.
