The City of Ocala Water Resources Department was called Thursday to a report of a public access reuse water spill.

City leaders said between 1.5 million and 2.0 million gallons were spilled but the spill has since been contained. It happened at the Groundwater Wetland Recharge Park.

The water involved in the spill has been treated and presents no danger to the public. City leaders said this spill was caused when a sinkhole formed in a wetlands cell. The sinkhole is slated for repair.
