Bilingual Ballot lawsuit

The lawsuit filed by a woman from Alachua County and several advocacy groups to require bilingual election ballots will be in court Wednesday.

U.S District judge Mark Walker will hear a motion to make Marta Valentina Rivera Madera the representative of a class action lawsuit.

Madera moved to Alachua county from Puerto Rico following hurricane Irma and does not clearly understand English.

Her suit would require Spanish language ballots and elections materials for the November 6th General election in Alachua and 31 other counties.
