Bill raising age required for children to use booster seat passes in committee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCJB) -- A bill sponsored by North Central Florida Senator Keith Perry passed unanimously in its committee on Monday.

Perry sponsored the Child Restraint Requirements bills that would raise the age children must be kept in booster seats from five years to six. It passed in the Children, Families and Elder Affairs Committee Monday. Now it’s moving to the Rules Committee.

A companion bill in the House was also introduced.
