GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A popular downtown event space in Gainesville is under construction to make the venue more accessible.
Work has begun on the more than 100 thousand dollar bo diddley plaza makeover.
City workers will begin renovations on the southern and western sections of the plaza.
The improvements include replacing broken bricks and evening out the surface to make it easier for people with mobility issues to get around.
The cost of construction is $130,000 and it's expected to be completed in February.
The plaza will remain open during construction and no events will be canceled or rescheduled.
