Burn ban issued in Alachua County

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -- A burn ban has been issued for Alachua County due to the COVID-19 state of emergency and expected dry weather.

County officials say during the coronavirus outbreak they want first responders and equipment ready to assist with medical needs.

The ban affects rural and municipal areas and bans all outdoor burning as well as fireworks, sparklers, and flares.

The ban will remain in effect until the end of the county's state of emergency.
