Cargo ship overturns off Georgia coast

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (WCJB)-- The U.S. Coast Guard is assisting with an investigation in Georgia. The Golden Ray, a massive cargo ship, overturned near St. Simons Island yesterday morning.

Officials had to evacuate crew members from the 656-foot ship with helicopters. Authorities with the Coast Guard said the ship was reported as disabled and had a fire on board.

Commander Justin Irwin with the Coast Guard station in Brunswick says at least 20 people were rescued from the boat.
