Celebration Pointe public drinking bill passes Florida House

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- A bill filed by State Representative Clovis Watson was approved by the State House on Thursday.

The bill, if passed, would provide an exception to Florida’s laws, which require patrons drinking alcohol to stay within the premises of a bar or restaurant.

Instead, customers would be allowed to take drinks outside and potentially visit other businesses in Celebration Pointe.

The measure passed on a vote of 114 yeas and one no. It now heads to the State Senate.
