(WCJB) - - Republican candidate Chuck Brannan will be the Florida House representative for District 10.
District 10 includes Suwannee, Hamilton, Columbia, Baker, and parts of Alachua County.
Brannan takes over for longtime State Representative Elizabeth Porter, who is term-limited.
He held a watch party at a restaurant in Macclenny, FL and he says he appreciates the voters.
“We just want to thank all the voters and everybody who placed their confidence in us,” Brannan said. "We want to work hard for everyone. We worked hard and this is the outcome we were looking for.”
Brannan shares what he will do for District 10.
“We care about agriculture, we care about education, and we care about our natural resources—our springs, our water, and keeping our environment clean,” Brannan said. “That’s our biggest calling card here in Florida.”
Brannan received 73% of the votes—outdistancing Democrat Ronald Williams II and Independent Merillee Malwitz-Jipson.
