City of Alachua cancels annual 4th of July celebrations

A North Central Florida community won't be celebrating Independence Day on the 4th this year.

The City of Alachua is canceling the annual 4th of July celebrations.

The event draws in more than 25,000 people, and with social distancing measures in place, there is no way to hold the event.

They are working to move the festivities to Labor Day weekend.
