Cold case involving the death of two sisters in Gainesville now 25 years old

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -

Sunday, November 1st marked the 25th anniversary of a Gainesville cold case involving the death of two sisters.

On December 1st, 1994, firefighters responded to a house fire and later found the bodies of Treva Gernannt and Emily Wallace in the burnt rubble.

The roof fell on top of the two women, and police say stab wounds were discovered on Gernannt's neck.

Both women, ages 88 and 74, were last seen hours before the late night fire.
