OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) -- A construction worker was hospitalized with serious burns after a gas line accident Friday.

Ocala Rescue fire crews responded to a gas line explosion on Northeast 25th Street and Northeast 36th Avenue.

Firefighters say they saw a tall column of flames burning behind a construction vehicle.

Officials say the fire started after a gas line was accidentally punctured during a routine operation.

They were able to put out the fire and secure the gas line.
