Cross City's vice mayor found guilty of bringing contraband into a jail

CROSS CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - Cross City's vice mayor has been found guilty of bringing contraband into a jail.

Jovante Teague was arrested in March of 2018.

Today a judge ruled he must pay a 500-dollar fine and be placed on probation for two years.

He was also ordered to surrender his certification for corrections and law enforcement.

Teague worked for the Dixie County Sheriff's Office in 2017 as a correctional officer.
