DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -
UPDATE (11/30/2019, 1:30 p.m.):
A deadly crash on I-295 northbound near Merrill Road in Duval County closed several lanes as officials with the Florida Highway Patrol investigated the incident.
According to a press release from FHP, 55-year-old Brian George was traveling northbound on I-295 around 7:25 a.m. on Saturday in his 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML-500 when he failed to maintain control while negotiating a curve near Merrill Road.
The Mercedes-Benz then rotated and struck a nearby concrete barrier wall, ejecting George before coming to a rest in the right lane of I-295 next to the driver.
I-295 near Merrill Road was re-opened sometime before 1:30 p.m.
