Dental office provides free services for veterans

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- A dental group in Ocala provided veterans with something a bit different, a free dental care day.

The team at Oakridge Dental Care spent their day honoring veterans in a different way, on this Veteran's Day.

"In this area, I find that there's a lot more veterans or people, who are under-served in terms of military groups,” said Dr. Christopher Bonesteel.

This is the sixth year that Dr. Bonesteel and his team provided free dental care to veteran patients.

They provided free extractions, fillings, cleanings, and x-rays, and many are taking advantage of the opportunity.

"It's nice to know that people do appreciate what you've done. I work with two other veterans and they both made it in today and it was really helpful to them, we appreciate it,” said Army Veteran Jason Elliott.

Elliott has participated in this dental event twice and recommends that other veterans participate too.

"Just come in even if you don't think you need anything done, you can get your teeth cleaned and check your oral health,” Elliott said.

Roughly 25 veterans took advantage of the free dental day at Oakridge.
