ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) – Flu season is heating up.
The latest weekly report released by the Department of Health indicated an increase in influenza.
No major outbreaks were reported in North Central Florida.
Instead, most of the North Central Florida region is experiencing what they call "mild" activity while Marion County has reported a "moderate" flu level.
Alachua, Columbia and Marion counties have also reported increased activity.
Of the different strains of the flu, H1N1 activity has increased in recent weeks, but influenza B remains the most common.
