GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Detectives made a second arrest in a home invasion case turned homicide Thursday afternoon.

Alachua County deputies arrested Jevin Hilliard, 26, on a count of homicide and robbery, deputies said.

Hilliard has been linked to a home invasion that left one dead and another injured on September 29. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a man dead inside a home, deputies said. Later they found Hilliard with a gunshot wound down the street.

Deputies said they made a connection between the two incidents.

Hilliard was released from the hospital today. He is being held in the Alachua County Jail. His bond has not been posted.
