A summer camp for kids in Gainesville combines educational lessons with fun activities for a special learning experience.
The STEM camps at engineering for kids give kids the opportunity to explore science and engineering concepts by participating in hands-on group projects.
The camps are open to kids ages 4 to 14, with a variety of interactive activities for all different skill levels.
"The main purpose of our programs is to give the kids the opportunity to try out new things,” said Engineering for Kids Program Director Michael Abbott. "STEM can kind of seem daunting at times for especially younger kids with robotics and all of this fancy terminology and technology, so we try to give them the opportunity to have hands-on experience with it."
The camps also reinforce lessons that the kids have already learned in school, so the concepts are fresh in their minds when they head back to class in the fall.
