UF College of Medicine to host free health clinic in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The UF College of Medicine is wrapping up its Celebration of Diversity Week' with a health fair in east Gainesville on Saturday, April 6, 2019.

The Equal Access Clinic Student-Alumni Health Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UF Health Family Medicine Eastside, located at 410 NE Waldo Road.

UF College of Medicine students, faculty and alumni will be providing free health checks with blood pressure and diabetes screenings.

“There will be activities for the kids as well. There’ll be face painting, balloon blowing, and our mobile unit will be there as well, and just a chance for the community to engage with us,” said Dr. Donna M. Parker.

The health fair will mark the end to the third annual Diversity Week, which aims to promote cross-cultural understanding and address heath care disparities in our communities.
