FDA recalls eyedrops and ointments at Walmart and Walgreens

Washington D.C. (WCJB) - Eye drops and ointments sold exclusively at Walmart and Walgreens have been recalled this past week.

The Food and Drug Administration said the products may not be sterile.

Altaire Pharmaceuticals Inc., which distributes to Walmart and Walgreens, issued voluntary recalls for various product.

This includes various Equate products labeled for Walmart including treatments for allergy relief, solutions, eye, and gel drops.
For Walgreens, they recalled its over-the-counter and prescription eye drops and ointments under the brand name Walgreens.

The recall is just a precautionary measure, the company said in a statement.
