FHP: Woman arrested for DUI after crashing into fire hydrant, flooding the road

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- The Marion County Sheriff's Office has released body camera footage of a wreck this morning that destroyed a fire hydrant and caused the road to flood.

The Florida Highway Patrol says that around 2:00am a car crashed into a hydrant near the Community Baptist Church on SE 156th Place, causing it to spew water out with enough force to blast a 20-foot wide and 8-foot deep hole in the ground around it, trapping the car.

FHP says no was injured in the crash, but the driver, 22-year-old Alexandrea Runyon from Lady Lake, was arrested and charged with DUI. No one was injured in the crash.

The FHP investigated the crash and deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office assisted.
