Farmers can be a part of the answer to climate change.
A seminar this afternoon covered several agricultural industries in Florida including farming, ranching, and forestry.
The conference focused on sustaining agriculture during high temperatures and extreme weather events, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and using fewer resources.
"Our farmers have to be ready and I think they can be part of the solution. They have a lot of know-how and together with the University of Florida Agricultural Extension and all the researchers here we're going to make a dent in the climate crisis," said rep. Kathy Castor, Chair of the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.
The forum was held at the Hilton University Conference Center.
