WALDO, Fla. (WCJB)-- Residents will soon have a new hot spot to enjoy the pleasures of reading. Workers are wrapping up their work on the new library on US 301.

The old Dollar General has been renovated to house the library. The total cost came out to $1.1 million.

“Our new library is five times the size of our old library. We have 15 computers with internet access. We have a children’s area and Snuggle Up Center. We have an art studio, which we’re calling our ‘art space,’ and will house our art programs there,” said Kerry Dowd, the branch manager.

The grand opening of the new library is set to happen at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Waldo.
