Firefighter crews extinguish house fire and save the homeowner's dog

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) – A house went up in flames Friday afternoon but Marion County firefighters came to the rescue to save a member of the family.

When fire crews arrived at the home on Southeast 162nd Place Road around 2 p.m., it was unclear if anyone was inside.

Crews searched the burning home and were able to save Lucy the dog.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, which was brought under control in about 30 minutes.
