MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- Florida's Attorney General Ashley Moody was in Ocala Tuesday afternoon to speak on the importance of cybersecurity.
She touched on internet safety and her encounters as a judge, mother and as the state's attorney general. In partnership with Cyber Florida, she hopes to share the best ways city and county leaders can prevent, respond to and recover from cyber-attacks.
"Every time we have an election, every time we go through a particular crime or a threat against one of our local governments, we get better at protecting ourselves and that is across the board in Florida,” she said.
Recently, the City of Ocala recovered funds lost from an email phishing scam. It's situations like this that Moody hopes governments can avoid.
