Florida Democratic Party launches statewide Medicaid expansion tour

The Florida Democratic Party launched a statewide Medicaid expansion tour in Gainesville today.

While there is no Medicaid expansion ballot measure coming up this fall, Democrats say a vote for their candidates is a vote for Medicaid expansion in the state.

Gainesville mayor Lauren Poe spoke at the event outside city hall.

“No one should be discriminated against just because they're sick or have a disability,” Poe said. “We need to elect leaders who will actually fight to expand Medicaid and stand up for all Floridians."

The Florida Democratic Party is holding these events across the state.
