GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Bear regulations are due for an update in North Central Florida.
As the state's population of black bears increases, wildlife workers aim to update their plans to manage the population.
Florida Fish and Wildlife will be hosting a public comment on a proposed update to their management plan. With a population of more than 4,000 black bears in Florida, wildlife workers are suggesting fertility programs, bear reallocation and hunting.
