LAKE CITY, Fl. (WCJB) -- A building in Lake City bears the name of an educator credited with influencing thousands of students.
James Montgomery spent nearly 60 years teaching in Columbia County schools and at Florida Gateway College.
Now a building at FGC bears his name along with " Mr.Mont" as he is known.
Montgomery has helped provide around 450 scholarships for students. The newly named building houses faculty offices and classes in history and humanities.
Florida Gateway College also declared May 20th as " Mr. Mont James Montgomery Day. "
