OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) -- A Florida teen accused of stealing her parents' money to kill them is now being held at a detention center in North Central Florida.

17-year-old Alyssa Hatcher was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Ocala.

Hatcher's parents called police after they noticed they were missing a portion of their money.

She's accused of stealing nearly $1,500 from her parents and paying two people to kill them.

Word of her alleged murder plot circulated among her classmates at Umatilla High School. Later, Hatcher's boyfriend told police officers of her plan.

She's charged with two counts of criminal solicitation for murder and her parents said they will press charges.
