Food stamp relief set for early September due to hurricane Dorian

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- Floridians who usually receive benefits from the supplemental nutrition assistance program. Better known as "snap" will get them early for September.

The USDA has given permission to the department of children and families to release snap benefits for the month of September on Saturday at noon because of hurricane Dorian.

This is an early release of funds, no additional money will be provided.
