Former UF employee gets prison time for sex charges

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -- A former University of Florida employee will spend 18 months in prison after pleading no contest to several charges involving a minor.

Daniel Sanetz pleaded no contest to aggravated child abuse and aggravated assault, but a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior towards a minor was dropped.

The 47-year-old's prison sentence will be followed up by two years of house arrest and 10 years of probation.

Sanetz had worked at UF for over 20 years, some of which were spent at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
