Fourth annual "Fight Toxic Prisons" Convergence held in Gainesville this weekend

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Some residents of North Central Florida gathered for the first day of the "Fight Toxic Prisons" Convergence today at the Civic Media Center in downtown Gainesville.

The weekend-long event features speakers, panels, workshops, and protests covering issues such as felon voting rights and prison labor.

The convergence will take place in a different location each day, continuing at the Gator Wesley on Saturday and Sunday morning, followed by the MLK Center Sunday afternoon.

The event ends on Monday with the 352-Father's Day Bailout at the Alachua County Jail.
