Future uncertain for Lake City radio station

LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB)-- It's a case of "beat the clock" for a radio station in Columbia County.

96.5 FM WJTK has been silent while in receivership.

A new owner has been found, but they have a short window to keep the station's license from being canceled.

Dockins Communications purchased WJTK for about $230,000. They must have the station running and broadcasting by September 14th to keep their license.

The sale of the station included the transmitter, antenna and other equipment, but it did not include any studio space.

Dockins also owns 99.7 The Zone and 960 AM WGRO in Lake City.
