UPDATE: GRU dump truck driver rescued after vehicle overturns

GAINESVILLE, Fla.(WCJB)-- UPDATE:

Gainesville Fire Rescue rescued the driver of an overturned dump truck on Thursday.

Gainesville firefighters say the truck made a right turn on North Main Street from 53rd Avenue when the truck got caught in the grooves of the road.

The truck driver pulled off the road and tipped over due to the wet ground.

The driver was stuck inside the dump truck and had to be rescued.

The truck had been carrying limerock at the time, but Gainesville Fire Rescue says there were no injuries.

Gainesville Regional Utilities investigators did arrive at the scene, but they would not comment on the incident.

Gainesville Fire Rescue is responding to an overturned dump truck on North Main Street and 53rd Avenue.

Firefighters are currently safely removing the driver from the overturned dump truck.
