GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- Gainesville Police Department responded to three separate homicide attempts during the late hours of Monday, June 24th and early morning of Tuesday, June 25th.
GPD's Detective Division is investigating the three incidents, but they do not currently appear to be related.
The first shooting happened at around 11:30 pm on Monday night in the Pineridge Area. The victim was walking south on NW 23rd Terrace when he heard gunshots and began to flee. The victim was taken to Shands Hospital after suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound in his right torso.
The second incident happened on Tuesday morning at about 1:30 near Village Crossing apartments. The victim was loading her car when she heard gunfire and saw the flash of a gun barrel. She hid behind her car until the shooting stopped, then fled to safety without sustaining any injuries. The victim is described as a black male, medium build with a small afro type hairstyle wearing dark clothing.
The final incident occurred Tuesday morning around 2:45 in the Duval area. Police responded to reports of a shooting, where they located many bullet entry points in resident vehicles and the residency. None of the residents sustained injuries.
