GPD: Man allegedly starts fire in McDonalds bathroom

GAINESVILLE, Fla., (WCJB) -- A man was arrested after Gainesville Police say he allegedly started a fire in a restaurant bathroom on Monday.

According to an arrest report by the Gainesville Police Department, John Hernandez-Ramos, 27, bought gas at a nearby gas station and allegedly started a fire in the McDonald's bathroom at 1206 West University Avenue. After starting the fire, Hernandez allegedly fled from the restaurant.

GPD was able to locate and arrest Hernandez-Ramos who admitted to starting the fire.

Hernandez-Ramos was taken to the Alachua County Jail and is charged with arson with no bond.
