GPD: man causes girlfriend to jump out of second-story window

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — A Gainesville man was arrested on Friday after police say he caused his girlfriend to jump out of a second-story window, breaking her arm and fracturing her leg.

According to a Gainesville Police sworn complaint, on May 1 Theodore Roosevelt Wilson, 67, accused his girlfriend of having another man in her room.

Fearing that Wilson would attack her, she barricaded the door with a dresser. Police say that Wilson made threats that he was going to break down the door and "stab" her. Fearing for her life, the girlfriend was forced to jump out of her second-story window, fracturing her left leg and breaking an arm.

Prior to this incident, Wilson was arrested and charged with domestic battery three times.

Wilson was arrested on a warrant and is charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment. He is in the Alachua County Jail with bond set at $20,000.
