GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The student with the highest score on the Cambridge AICE exam lives here in north central Florida.

Gainesville High School senior, Sterling Reed received a 93% on the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) english language exam and earned the “Top of the World" score.

“I was elated,” Reed said. “I didn’t think it was possible for me to get that high of a score on this exam."

The writing exam asks students to analyze two stories from different authors and write their own narrative.

Even more astonishing, Reed has dyslexia and dysgraphia, which affects reading and handwriting abilities.

“The bright side of it is since it is a learning disability, they can accommodate you,” Reed said. “So they were able to give me a laptop for Cambridge exams with a Microsoft Word file and I would type them out, which was much easier for me than writing it out."

Reed either plans on going to the University of Southern California's School of Architecture to study sustainable design or attend the University of Miami to study marine oceanography.
